Presbyopia - Nearvision Correction

Are you over the age of 40 and have trouble seeing up close, especially in dark restaurants? Would you like to reduce or eliminate the need for reading glasses or bifocals? Learn more about presbyopia and your nearvision correction options below.

What is Presbyopia?

Presbyopia is a condition that normally becomes noticeable for people around the age of 45. In children and young adults, the lens inside the eye can simply focus on both distant and near objects. With age, the lens loses that ability to focus. To compensate, individuals typically end up holding reading material further away to make the image clearer. Eventually, aids including reading glasses are typically needed by the mid-forties.

The most common way people deal with this condition is reading glasses and bifocials. However, for this wishing to reduce or eliminate glasses, we can treat Presbyopia in a number of ways, including: monovision and multifocal contact lenses, monovision LASIK laser vision correction, and presbyopia correcting lens implants.
