Denver

There’s plenty of excitement to keep you busy in Denver, but sometimes getting away from it all gives you perspective on your life. Another way you can get perspective is by getting LASIK.

After all, it offers excellent vision correction, and it’s permanent. You can experience visual improvement far beyond what your glasses and contact lenses could achieve after you have LASIK and change your life for the better.

Keep reading to discover how incredible your vision is when you go hiking in Denver after you’ve had LASIK!

Tell it On the Mountain

You’ll be able to see as you’ve never seen before. You’ll be free from the responsibility of caring for contact lenses and the bulky discomfort of glasses.

LASIK will give you a new outlook on life, and with all that visual freedom, you might want to climb high and shout from the mountaintops that LASIK has changed your life!

Three Hikes to Take after LASIK

It’s up to you whether or not you want to take your appreciation of LASIK that far, but once you’ve had LASIK, you’re certainly going to want to get out more and see the world in a new light. If you’re up for the challenge, here are three of the most beautiful hikes to summit in Denver to celebrate your visual freedom.

1. White Ranch Park Sunset Loop Trail

At White Ranch Park in Golden, a network of trails means you can go on as short or as long a hike as you like. It’s family-friendly too and suitable for all skill levels.

You’ll get the best of nature and urban views with a glimpse of the Ralston Buttes, a unique geologic formation, and see Denver’s skyscrapers in the distance. Walk through open meadows or under the fragrant boughs of Ponderosa pine.

The Maverick Trail will give you endless views over the high plains and an excellent look at Denver at just under a mile long. White Ranch Park is part of Jefferson County’s Open Space trail system.

2. Red Rocks Park Trading Post Trail

You’ve seen a show at the Red Rocks Amphitheater in Morrison, but have you hiked the area? Take the 1.4-mile Trading Post Trail.

The trail winds around ten of the park’s giant red rock formations, making it a great hike. Just under half an hour from downtown Denver, it’s an otherworldly experience.

Hike the loop counterclockwise for the best views, and keep your eyes out for rattlesnakes. This is another hike suitable for families.

3. Flatirons Vista Loop Trail

A 40-minute drive from Denver, the Flatirons Vista near Boulder allows you to choose two loops, one 1.9 miles, and the other 3.3 miles. They’ll take you among the Ponderosa pines and the meadows below the Flatirons south of Boulder.

It’s a beautiful hike in warmer weather, and if you hike during wintertime, you may catch a glimpse of a golden or bald eagle. As these trails will expose you to the sun, bring a hat and wear sunscreen.

Are You a Good LASIK Candidate?

If you’re ready to look into permanent vision correction with LASIK, here are a few things to keep in mind if you’d like to know whether or not you’d make a good candidate:

  • You’re at least 18 years old
  • You have a stable prescription that hasn’t changed in a year
  • You’re not currently pregnant or nursing
  • Your refractive errors are within the treatable range
  • You have corneas that are thick enough
  • You have healthy eyes
  • You’re in good overall health with no chronic conditions that would affect healing
  • You have realistic expectations and realize that age-related vision changes will still occur
