Denver

There’s a reason why the holidays are called the most wonderful time of the year! With Christmas, Hanukkah, and New Year’s Eve all bundled together, there’s no excuse for not being merry! In Denver, the holidays are even better because of our amazing city.

It also doesn’t hurt that it’s like living in a real winter wonderland, each winter. Looking to start new holiday traditions? Check out these 5 Denver holiday attractions to enjoy!

1. The Rink at Belmar

Ice skating is one of the quintessential winter sports for young and old. It’s way more fun when you can skate at a rink outside, like The Rink at Belmar!

With a 7,000 square foot rink, there’s plenty of room for the whole family to skate and drink hot cocoa all day! Looking for a fun night out on skates? Be sure to check out the Ugly Sweater Skate Night on Friday, December 10th! Oh, and don’t forget your ugly sweater. It’s your ticket for half-price skating!

2. The Christkindl Mart

There’s nothing to get your Christmas juices flowing quite like a Christkindl Mart! These German Christmas markets have a long and varied history and can be found around the country during the holiday season.

Admission to Denver’s beautiful Christkindl Mart is free, so the whole family can join in! Authentic German cuisine, local businesses, bier, and confections are just a few offerings!

In its 18th year, the Christkindl Mart runs until December 23rd, so there are only a few more weeks left to explore it! Need last minute Christmas presents? You never know what you’ll find at the Christkindl Mart!

3. Zoo Lights at Denver Zoo

There’s nothing quite like seeing the Denver Zoo all lit up during Zoo Lights. Don’t believe us? Come and check it out for yourself! Trust us, there’s nothing like it.

We don’t know what it is, but all lights become more magical during the holidays! Combine that with the beauty of Denver Zoo’s animals and being around nature, and you have a great night.

Don’t forget to peruse the Festival of Lanterns while you walk around the zoo. There are 2 million lights spread out over 70 acres, complete with animal encounters!

Want to see Zoo Lights? Buy your tickets in advance because they will sell out! Zoo Lights runs November 30-January 6th.

Afternoon Tea at the Brown Palace Hotel

4. Have Afternoon Tea at the Brown Palace Hotel

Start a holiday tradition your kids will love: Afternoon Tea at the Brown Palace Hotel. Afternoon Tea is an elegant affair, served with finger sandwiches, herbal tea and more!

You’ll dine in the Atrium, surrounded by the grandeur of the Brown Palace Hotel. Reservations are highly recommended, as Afternoon Tea is extremely popular!

5. The 12 Bars Of Charity Bar Crawl

We recommend leaving the kids at home for this one since you’ll need to be 21+ to participate. In its second year, the 12 Bars of Charity Bar Crawl is only $30 to take part, with $15,000 raised last year!

Some of the bars that have signed on include SideCar, Larimer Beer Hall, The Refinery and more! Who would say no to a good time and raising money for charity at the same time? We definitely wouldn’t!

There are many, many more things to do in Denver this holiday season, but these are some of our favorites! Let us know in the comments or on social media what your favorite Denver holiday activities are!
