Denver, Colorado, Skyline

When it comes to living in Denver, there’s a lot to do! With beautiful mountains, amazing restaurants, and a killer brewery scene, there’s no reason you can’t try somewhere new this summer! Check out these Denver hot spots for your next night out on the town.

Tour Some Breweries

With 350 breweries in the state of Colorado, beer is a big deal in Denver. It seems like there’s a new brewery opening daily, and there are too many choices to try them all. That being said, don’t forget about old but new favorite Oasis Brewing Co. This brewery is 27 years young, but it’s hanging out in its new digs in the Highlands. Check it out for award-winning brews, an oatmeal stout, and an ESB.

Beer

After checking out Oasis Brewing Co. make sure to stop by Odell Brewing Company. The taproom is brand new, featuring a gorgeous rooftop patio to enjoy their Session IPA’s, cocktail-inspired beers, and a guava gose that you can only get in Denver!

All this beer will probably make you hungry, so end your brewery crawl at The Grateful Gnome Sandwich Shoppe & Brewery. As the name suggests, patrons can get their fix of saisons, IPA’s, and blondes, as well as delicious bagel sandwiches. Bagels and beer just go together!

Fine Dining Options

Not only is the brewery scene exploding in Denver, but so are the restaurants. If you’re in Denver, you have to try Izakaya Den at least once, just to say that you’ve eaten the best sushi in Denver. Go all out and order the Deluxe Sushi Platter, featuring 17 pieces of sushi including tuna, yellowtail, salmon, shrimp nigiri, octopus sashimi, hand rolls, and a California roll. You might want to bring a group to help you finish!

Our other current dining obsession is Acorn on Brighton Blvd. There’s just something about shared plates that makes dining fun again! At Acorn, make sure to order the Scallop Tartare for flavors out of this world, and if you’re feeling really feisty, try out the 24 oz Bone-In Dry Age CAB Ribeye, which is enough to feed a small family. Don’t say we didn’t warn you!

At Vesta, date night takes on new heights, thanks to a handcrafted menu and an incredible wine list. Personally, if you want to start your night off right, we recommend stopping by for happy hour, which is in the bar every day from 5 pm to 6:30 pm.

This is probably one of the best deals in town, featuring $6 cocktails like the Grapefruit Basil Collins which is made with vodka, grapefruit, basil, lemon and topped with soda. Or maybe try the Pegasus, featuring unicorn tea, chamomile bitters, and gin for a refreshing experience. The real reason to come to happy hour at Vesta is to get the Chinese BBQ Pork Belly since during happy hour, it’s just $3! Still hungry? The Ahi Tuna Tonnato is a must try!

Red Rocks, Denver, CO

Get Outside And Explore Red Rocks Park & Amphitheatre!

If you’re tired of eating and drinking, it’s time to go check out Red Rocks Park & Amphitheatre. Known as one of the most beautiful sights in the country, Red Rocks is a National Historic Landmark that you just have to see to believe. Sure, you can go check out a concert or dine at  Ship Rock Grille, but if you love the outdoors, you have to try hiking Red Rocks, at least once. With two trails inside the Park, you can experience the natural beauty of Colorado up close and personal. If you’re looking for a shorter hike, try the Geologic Overlook Trail which is located in the Northwest section of the park. If you’re looking for something a little bit more challenging, check out the Red Rocks Trail, which is part of Matthews-Winters, part of a 6-mile loop. We all love Denver, and there’s no better way to see our fair city’s beautiful views!
